Our Labs

DOD Labs is your source for thorough and convenient analytical testing. This includes PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) - also known as “forever chemicals” that do not break down and are known to pollute the environment. PFAS can have a negative effect on your health due to exposure from eating, drinking and breathing. Our specialty in testing for PFAS, and other toxic substances will help you identify your level of exposure and take action to reduce your risk.

Our state-of-the-art facilities employ the latest technologically advanced equipment for delivering fast and comprehensive results. But don’t take our word for it. Order one of our test kits today. They include everything you need to efficiently return your samples safely to our lab.

ANSI Certificate

TNI Laboratory Accredidation

The NELAC Institute (TNI) provides a framework for accrediting environmental laboratories through the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP). TNI develops standards for laboratory accreditation, including technical and quality systems requirements, and recognizes accreditation bodies (ABs) that meet these standards.

ISO Certificate

ISO 17025 For Laboratory Testing & Calibration

An international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, confirming their ability to produce valid, reliable, and consistent results.

EPA Certified

Analytical Testing For Companies and Individuals Across North America

  • Certified Icon Test kits available for use across the U.S.
  • Labs Icon Test kit samples accepted from the US, Canada and Mexico

Comprehensive Reports

Our PFAS reports examine up to 40 analytes measured in parts per trillion (ppt). Results are provided based on Limits of Qualification (LOQ). Each LOQ represents the lowest concentration of a substance that can be reliably measured with acceptable accuracy and precision. This analysis will help you determine your level of exposure and serve as a guide to taking further action. The report image is an example only and your report's content will vary based on your chosen kit.

Our Leadership Team

Zach Wood

Zach Wood, Ph.D.

Zach Wood earned is B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Kansas and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California. Zach has performed research in sustainable polymer chemistry, with a specific focus on designing catalytic methods to synthesize new plastics and upcycling current mass-produced plastics that currently go to waste. At DOD Labs, he leads the analytical team that analyzes PFAS in aqueous samples adhering to the published EPA methods, in addition to performing R&D in new ways detect PFAS in more difficult media and developing real time monitors for PFAS detection.

Chris Otolski

Chris Otolski, Ph.D.

Chris currently serves as the Laboratory Director for DOD Labs and DOD Technologies. He is an experienced scientist, with a dedication to research excellence. His background includes a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD focused in Physical Chemistry from The University of Kansas. In addition to his research and expertise with PFAS, Chris has specialized in low-level toxic gas detection using colorimetric and infrared spectroscopy techniques to provide accurate and rapid responses for worker safety in industrial settings.
